JOB TITLE: Research Lab Aid
JOB PURPOSE: The Research Lab Aid will assist with routine tasks, organization of the lab, and assist with any simple tasks for researchers in the Suyama lab.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: - Assisting with the maintenance of chemical inventory
- Organizing lab equipment and labeling storage areas.
- Assisting with routine tasks associated with experimentation, such as cleaning glassware, preparing media and solutions.
- Assisting with experiments as the aid's abilities and availability allow.
SUPPLEMENTAL FUNCTIONS: Other duties as assigned
COMPETENCIES: - Ability to break up large tasks into small goals and work independently
- Some experience in working with spreadsheets
- Interest in working in a research lab
- Ability to follow safety protocols and to safely lift and carry heavy pieces of equipment
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Attention to detail and excellent work ethics
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: • Current UW student studying chemistry, biology, or related sciences.
• Currently enrolled in or having had organic chemistry.
