**Seeking ELA Distance Teacher & Math Distance Teacher

At RMA, our remote teachers hold on-campus positions, leveraging virtual platforms to deliver instruction across the district. This innovative approach allows educators to engage with students from various locations while benefiting from the resources and support of an on-campus environment. Our teachers play a crucial role in providing high-quality education through a blend of in-person presence and cutting-edge virtual teaching methods.

We are seeking a dedicated and innovative Distance Teacher to join our Academics Department. The ideal candidate will possess strong technological skills, a passion for teaching, and the ability to effectively manage and educate students from diverse backgrounds through virtual instruction.

Qualifications/Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree or higher.
• Valid teacher certification appropriate for the assignment.
• Completed professional development for online instruction.
• Proficient in multitasking various computer software programs.
• Ability to record lessons on Canvas and broadcast to other locations.
• Preferred experience working with “at-risk” students.
• Effective communication with parents, students, and staff.
• Skilled in managing students from diverse backgrounds.
• Experience in conflict resolution.
• Other qualifications as deemed appropriate by the district.

Responsibilities:

Professional:

• Implement school mission, philosophy, and instructional standards.
• Enforce policies and rules for student life and conduct.
• Protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
• Maintain accurate and complete records.
• Strive for professional competence.
• Attend staff meetings and serve on committees.
• Maintain cooperative relationships with colleagues, students, and parents.
• Communicate academic and behavioral progress.
• Perform additional tasks as assigned.
• Collaborate with RMA employees and contractors.
• Be available for education-related purposes outside instructional hours.

Instructional:

• Provide virtual instruction to various campuses.
• Plan study programs to meet individual student needs.
• Collaborate on content development for Texas Virtual School Network Approval.
• Create a blended learning environment with Associate Teachers.
• Prepare for classes and provide evidence of preparation.
• Encourage high standards of behavior and achievement.
• Use positive behavior interventions.
• Maintain classroom order.
• Guide learning to achieve curriculum standards.
• Use diverse instructional techniques and media.
• Regularly assess and document student progress.
• Address learning problems and seek specialist assistance as needed.
• Meet the needs of special program students.
• Plan and supervise assignments for assistants and volunteers, assessing their performance.
