Summary: South Valley Farms is seeking an enthusiastic and inquisitive Finance Intern to join our local accounting team for Summer 2025. The Intern will support the local Controller and team with tasks related to AR, AP, payroll processing, and harvest data integrity. A successful candidate takes initiative to understand the accounting function, works with a sense of urgency, and is proactive with assisting in other accounting-related projects. Responsibilities: Perform ad hoc account analysis and reports. Create journal entries for CIP fringe and P-card sales tax accrual monthly. Prepare monthly fuel and balance sheet account reconciliation. Assist in fixed asset additions, disposals, transfers and changes, and verifications. Count and reconcile chemicals. Analyze equipment billing rates. Enter data accurately and promptly into the appropriate business systems (Lawson, CHIPS, FISC, OnBase, etc.) Learn the department and company's culture and expectations. Actively participate and engage during trainings, group conversations, and meetings. Qualifications: Currently pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in Accounting. Proficiency in Microsoft tools with aptitude for learning new computer software. Experience with ERP systems and/or database queries a plus. Strong demonstrated interpersonal, communication, and listening skills. Self-motivated, high level of integrity and work ethic, with excellent attention to detail. Willing and able to work on-site, get to the office reliably, and accommodate extended work hours occasionally to meet critical deadlines per business needs.
