Job Description

Certification Details

• BLS
• ARDMS registered in either Vascular Technology (RVT) or RDMS (Abdominal or OB/GYN) within 6 months of employment (RVT preferred first)
• Both RVT and RDMS within 12 months of employment
• Third certification (Abdominal or OB/GYN) completed within 18 months of employment
• RDMS (Breast) certification within 24 months of achieved competency for employees providing breast imaging

Job Details

• Produces high quality images for interpretation by physicians that meet the standards established by the Mayo Clinic Radiology Departments.
• Requires competence, as determined by competency assessments, in a variety of imaging equipment and technology.
• Practices proper safety guidelines for themselves, support personnel and patients.
• Fosters teamwork through effective communication.
• Ensures high level of service to patients through proper communication, technique, and safety guidelines.
• Maintains flexibility to staff various work locations, shift times and lengths.
• Perform other functional duties as assigned to assure efficient and optimal patient care.

Job Requirements

• Organized, efficient and multifunctional.
• Ability to work independently.
• Requires excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrates effective communication.
• Ability to work varied hours, shift lengths and respond to an on-call pager which may include days, evenings, nights, holidays and weekends.
• Graduate of an accredited sonography or radiography program.
