divh2Small Arms Repairer/h2pHelp list repairs on appropriate forms to indicate needed repairs./ppPrepare reports on recurring equipment failures./ppDocument inventory to maintain accountability of weapons./ppInspect small arms to determine serviceability and condition of repairs necessary./ppDisassemble weapons to diagnose malfunctions./ppRepair small weapons by replacing obsolete parts and/or assemblies./ppObserve rules and regulations to ensure all safety and physical security standards are followed./ppAnalyze unit deficiencies to determine required organizational training./ppConduct operational checks and final inspections to ensure maintenance has been completed./ppSuggest corrective actions in accordance with unit policies and procedures./ppUse hand tools to make repairs and adjustments./ppUtilize measuring instruments to determine when parts are worn or damaged./ppPerforms two level Preventative Maintenance Checks and Services (PMCS) to include periodic gauging./ppConditions of employment:/ppAppointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation./ppTHIS POSITION REQUIRES ACTIVE MEMBERSHIP AS A SOLDIER IN THE U.S. ARMY RESERVE (USAR)./ppThis position is subject to the Lautenberg Amendment/Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment to the Gun Control Act of 1968./ppThis position is subject to Drug Abuse Testing Program requirements./ppThis position requires a medical examination prior to employment./ppThis position requires to obtain and maintain a valid state drivers license in order to obtain a Government Motor Vehicle Operators certificate./ppQualifications:/ppWho May Apply: Only applicants who meet one of the employment authority categories below are eligible to apply for this job. To meet the screen out element, applicants should document experience or show the ability to do the following: initial inspection of small weapons to determine repairs needed; disassemble, repair, and replace components on small arms; final inspection to ensure repairs were completed correctly; use of hand tools, precision gauges and measuring instruments; perform weapon operational tests; provide training; and prepare reports. - Failure to meet this Screen Out Element will result in an ineligible rating./ppAbility To Do The Work Of The Position Without More Than Normal Supervision/ppAbility to Interpret Instructions, Specification, etc. (includes blueprint reading)/ppKnowledge of Equipment Assembly, Installation, Repair, etc./ppTechnical Practices (theoretical, precise, artistic)/ppTrouble Shooting/ppUse of Measuring Instruments/ppPhysical Efforts: Frequently lifts subassemblies or small weapons weighing 15 to 20 pounds. Often carries large assemblies or weapons weighing up to 50 pounds. Work requires walking, bending, and long periods of standing./ppWorking Conditions: Works in shop buildings that are well lighted, heated, and ventilated. Stands on concrete floors or other hard surfaces for long periods. Exposed to oil, grease, and solvents when cleaning and lubricating weapons. Exposed to the possibility of minor cuts and bruises from tools and sharp edges of metal.
