What We Need The senior data scientist will lead high-value workstreams within the Actuarial and Analytics Solutions (AAS) department, involved in all phases of development from ideation to deployment. Responsibilities include developing models and analytics to support medical economics, payment integrity, and finance, as well as implementing advanced program measurements using statistical analysis and predictive modeling. Mentorship to junior staff is also expected. The ideal candidate is a subject matter expert in advanced data science techniques, with healthcare data experience, especially claims, being highly advantageous. Collaboration with Business Owners, Product Managers, Data Scientists, and Software Engineers to understand problems and co-develop solutions is essential. Effective communication across various levels of the organization is required. *This role is eligible for our FLEX persona. Your Day-to-Day Lead research, design, and implementation of data science solutions to meet business needs. Identify and strategize solutions for complex data problems or trends. Design new approaches to solve business problems and enhance efficiency. Apply statistical techniques to analyze noisy or messy data. Generate insights and recommendations by synthesizing internal and external data sources. Design, build, and deploy new data models and pipelines. Manage the creation of impactful dashboards and visualizations. Stay informed on emerging trends and incorporate them into solutions. Coordinate with departmental leaders to ensure consistency in data findings across various domains. Communicate analysis and financial impacts effectively to senior leadership. *This list is not exhaustive; additional duties may be assigned. What You Bring: Extensive knowledge of healthcare delivery and health plan operations, including Medical Economics, Trend Management, Pricing, and Provider Payment Methodologies. Experience with machine learning, statistical techniques, and deploying predictive models. Strong communication skills across organizational levels. Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively. Customer-focused with a collaborative approach in a matrix environment. Creative problem-solving skills and strategic thinking. Proven track record of delivering value in high-performance settings. Proficiency in Python, SQL, Tableau, and statistical software like R or SAS. Experience with cloud analytics platforms, preferably Snowflake. Familiarity with Agile methodologies and IT collaboration. Education/Experience: At least five years of healthcare data analysis, design, and delivery experience. Claims data experience is a significant plus. BA/BS required; MS, MPH, or PhD in a relevant field preferred. We support your well-being through various benefits.
