Description

Vanguard Energy Partners, LLC is seeking a Logistics Coordinator to work on a Project site. This role will collaborate closely with various departments to support all material management activities and site inventory management as well as facilitating movement of deliveries between construction sites. Under the supervision of the Project Manager, the Logistics Coordinator will work with Procurement, site construction, vendors and owner representatives to understand the material concerns of multiple work disciplines and help ensure that all pertinent materials are available onsite to support the construction schedule. This role will be at a construction job site and will require walking on uneven terrains and in various weather conditions.

This position requires travel with a 5:1 rotation.

Job Responsibilities

  • Serve as primary liaison between the site team and the Procurement team regarding material matters.
  • Oversee all global and domestic transportation for materials to project site. Communicate with shippers to ensure proper delivery times that align with construction delivery schedules.
  • Communicate with vendors, suppliers, and construction team on delivery schedules, ensuring materials needed are on site and accounted for to prevent delays and all material related issues.
  • Oversee, manage and organize all logistics at the job site including shipping, delivery of materials, laydown yard and inventory.
  • Ensure deliveries are accurate and match the order releases.
  • Become proficient in the use of various elements of the Procurement module including Requisitions, Purchase Orders, Purchase Contracts, Owner Supplied, Receiving, and Reports.
  • Assist in the generation, processing and collection of applicable documentation for owner and construction team, delivery look ahead, material inventory lists, and Warranty Claims.
  • Provide guidance to Project Engineers and Project Administrative Assistants for processing and filing of shipping documentation.
  • Prepare and distribute daily receiving and inventory reports to project team. Update material tracker daily and provide to team.
  • Work with Safety, Compliance and Quality in supporting construction on building of project site.
  • Develop and maintain a good working relationship with clients, subcontractors, vendors and site team to strengthen company position.

Qualifications

  • Logistics Coordinator is expected to re-locate to the project site for the duration of each construction project they are assigned to
  • Associate's degree in Material Management, Logistics or related field preferred or a minimum of 3 years related field experience.
  • Must have a strong knowledge of inventory management, material tracking and auditing.
  • Prior inventory management experience on industrial or commercial construction projects a plus.
  • Knowledge of Procurement and Material Management processes.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and Procore.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and a clean motor vehicle driving record (MVR).
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills along with the ability to give presentations to groups of people (10+).
  • Ability to work at project site for the duration of the project in addition to working 50-60 hours per week.
  • OSHA 30 certification a plus.
