Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and organized Human Resources Coordinator to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting various HR functions, ensuring compliance with organizational policies, and enhancing employee engagement. This position requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and proficiency in HR systems.Temp to hire, located in La Palma, CAOffering $24-30/hr. DOE

Duties

  • Schedule and conducts new employee orientations; informs new employees of company culture, core values, company policies, job duties and job safety, working conditions, wages and opportunities
  • Coordinate and assist with open enrollment and benefits administration
  • Demonstrate excellent communication skills on the telephone, via email and in person
  • Serve as a point-of contact to employees seeking services from the Human Resources department
  • Interface with third-party administrators to resolve claims appeals and any issues related to benefits
  • Review and record messages of daily voicemails for the Human Resources Department
  • Follow up on time and attendance issues of employees out on LOA / WC
  • Monitors leave of absence programs to ensure legal compliance, reviews and analyzes all leave state law applications, and makes recommendations and develops employer responses
  • Sends out employer responses in appropriate timing, follow up with employee while out on leave to request updates, speaks to medical offices on employee's behalf as needed
  • Assist employees in coordinating benefits while out on leave including collecting premiums to avoid coverage cancellation due to no payment
  • Implement and complies with HIPPA
  • Work with employees to promote health and wellness in the workplace; develops programs, distributes education and resources materials, and provides training opportunities to achieve and maintain a healthy workforce
  • Ensure proper documentation is maintained as needed. Including but not limited to maintaining documentation organization for hires, performance, training, OSHA logs, WC reporting, etc.
  • Accurately and appropriately processes employee record requests / subpoenas for WC cases
  • Maintain personnel files / lists up to date and accurate for employees out on leave / modified duty
  • Assist employees and supervisors with basic interpretation of HR policies and procedures

Qualifications

  • 2 + years preferably in Human Resources / Direct Personnel relations
  • Bilingual in Spanish and English required
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or a related field preferred.
  • Proven experience in human resources or administrative roles is a plus.
  • Written and verbal proficiency in the English and Spanish language
  • Strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently as well as within a team
  • Strong work ethic / Punctual / Dependable / Reliable
  • Demonstrated time management and organization skills
  • Proficient in the use of PC applications such as Microsoft Office products, (i.e. MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook, etc.).
  • Ability to work in different environments including office, factory and warehouse as needed
